Noem uncovers and kills multimillion-dollar, Biden-era DEI, LGBTQ program

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have uncovered and put an end to a multimillion-dollar program initiated by the Biden administration. The program, known as Invent2Prevent, was originally aimed at providing students with tools to prevent terror and violence in their communities. However, the Biden administration’s DHS contracted with predominantly far-left organizations, which led to the curriculum being redirected towards a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as well as LGBTQ agendas.
The DHS estimates that cutting the program will save the agency more than $1.5 million. Tricia McLaughlin, DHS assistant secretary, stated, “President Trump was given a mandate by the American people to eliminate wasteful government spending, and that is exactly what we are doing. This program was not only wasteful, it was also using public money to support an openly partisan and political organization.”
Politicized NGOs such as Eradicate Hate have been receiving taxpayer dollars for far too long, and the DHS is taking action to end this misuse of funds. The Invent2Prevent website now displays a banner indicating that the page contains archived content that may not reflect current policy or programs.
The Biden administration had made a significant push for DEI in both the private sector and the federal government, with former President Joe Biden signing the “Advancing Equity and Racial Justice Through the Federal Government” executive order on his first day in office. The topic of DEI policies was a focal point during the 2024 presidential campaign, with the Trump campaign linking DEI to the “woke” agenda.
Upon taking office, President Trump wasted no time dismantling DEI initiatives in the federal government by signing his own executive order titled “Ending Radical And Wasteful Government DEI Programs And Preferencing” on January 20, 2025. This order called for the termination of all discriminatory programs, prompting private sector companies to also scrap Biden-advocated diversity policies.
In March, Trump further solidified his stance on DEI by signing a memorandum to remove DEI from the Foreign Service, emphasizing the belief that all parts of government should be based solely on merit.
While DEI policies still exist, there has been a noticeable shift in rhetoric and a decline in practice compared to the Biden administration. The Trump administration’s actions have led to a change in the landscape of government-funded programs and initiatives, focusing on merit-based principles rather than partisan agendas.
