Nova Scotia Health opens new family care clinic Eastern Passage
EASTERN PASSAGE, N.S. — Access to primary health care got easier for Eastern Passage residents last week with the opening of a new, larger family practice clinic.
The clinic opened on Dec. 4 and will allow the community’s existing family practice with two nurse practitioners to grow to include a mental health social worker as of next year.
Nova Scotia Health is also looking to recruit a new doctor for the turnkey facility.
“I’m very excited to be working in this beautiful new space and to support our vibrant community of Eastern Passage and the surrounding area with their healthcare needs,” stated nurse practitioner Erin Sarrazin
“I am also happy to be working close to home and to be a part of this growing collaborative family practice team.”
The turnkey clinic, the first clinic of its kind in the community, allows health-care workers to focus on the patient while NS Health looks after the day-to-day administrative aspects of running a clinic.
“This clinic is good news for patients, the community and is an attractive option in our efforts to recruit and retain health-care professionals in Nova Scotia,” said Eastern Passage MLA and Seniors and Long-Term Care Minister Barbara Adams.
