Billionaires cozy up to Trump with seven-figure inaugural donations after past feuds with incoming president

Several Fortune 500 companies that previously clashed with President-elect Trump are now making significant seven-figure donations to his upcoming 2025 inauguration. Despite past feuds, these big-business leaders are showing their support for the incoming president in a major way.
One of the notable companies making a hefty donation is Meta, the world’s largest social media network headed by Mark Zuckerberg. In 2021, Meta suspended Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts following the events of Jan. 6, which Trump criticized as an “insult” to his voters. In his new book, titled “Save America,” Trump accused Zuckerberg of plotting against him in the 2020 election. However, the relationship between the two seemed to have taken a positive turn as Meta recently donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund after his election victory.
Similarly, Amazon, founded by Jeff Bezos, is also contributing $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund. Bezos, who also owns The Washington Post, had clashed with Trump in the past over various issues. However, after Trump’s election win, Bezos expressed optimism about Trump’s regulatory agenda, leading to Amazon’s generous donation towards the inauguration.
Ford, another major company that had previously defied Trump’s plans, announced a seven-figure donation to Trump’s inauguration fund. The automaker had disagreed with Trump’s stance on California’s green energy standards for automakers. Despite their past differences, Ford is now showing its support for the incoming president.
Other major automakers, such as GM and Toyota, are also making significant donations of $1 million each to Trump’s inauguration. Additionally, Intuit, a company whose stock dropped in November after reports of a potential free tax-filing app, is contributing $1 million towards the inauguration fund.
Overall, the shift in the relationships between these companies and President-elect Trump reflects a changing dynamic as they come together to support the incoming administration. Despite past disagreements, these major corporations are now showing their backing for Trump as he prepares to take office in 2025.
