Obama calls to expand ObamaCare ‘with everything going on right now’
Former President Barack Obama recently made a statement advocating for the expansion of his signature legislation, the Affordable Care Act (ACA). In a video promoting the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago next year, Obama emphasized that the ACA should be viewed as a “first step” towards improving healthcare in the United States.
“We’re not finished yet,” Obama stated in the video. “I’ve always said that the ACA is like a starter house, it was a big step forward, but still just a first step. Now it’s up to all of us to keep building on and improving the ACA.”

In contrast to Obama’s call for expansion, President Donald Trump has taken a different approach to healthcare policy. Trump attempted to repeal the ACA in 2017, but the effort fell short in the Senate. His “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act” of the same year included a provision that eliminated the ACA’s individual mandate.
Obama remains optimistic about the potential for Americans to come together and build upon the foundation laid by the ACA. He emphasized that the legislation demonstrated that certain issues transcend partisan politics and should be prioritized for the greater good of the nation.
