Ohio Republican says he was run off the road by man with Palestinian flag

Republican Congressman Max Miller of Ohio recently shared a harrowing experience he faced on Thursday, where he was almost attacked by what he described as an “unhinged, deranged man” who brandished a Palestinian flag.
In a social media post, Miller, who is Jewish, expressed his shock and concern over the incident, stating, “The deranged hatred in this country has gotten out of control. Today I was run off the road in Rocky River, and the life of me and my family was threatened by a person who proceeded to show a Palestinian flag before taking off.”
Having served as a reservist in the U.S. Marines and worked as a White House aide during President Donald Trump’s first administration, Miller emphasized the gravity of the situation by filing reports with both the U.S. Capitol Police and local law enforcement authorities. The Rocky River Police Department has confirmed the incident and launched an investigation into the matter.
“We know who this person is and he will face justice,” Miller asserted. “As a Marine, a proud Jewish American, and a staunch defender of Israel, I will not hide in the face of this blatant antisemitic violence.”
In a video shared on social media, Miller reiterated his commitment to combating antisemitism, Islamophobia, and all other forms of hatred. He also directed a message to the individual who attempted to run him off the road, urging them to address any grievances through proper channels rather than resorting to violence.
The rise in antisemitic violence and hate crimes towards Jewish Americans has been a growing concern, particularly following the Israel-Hamas conflict in October 2023. According to a survey conducted by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) last year, incidents of antisemitism have surged, prompting organizations like the ADL to take a stand against bigotry and discrimination.
As Congressman Miller continues to advocate for tolerance and unity, his experience serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing and condemning acts of hatred in all forms. By raising awareness and promoting understanding, Miller hopes to foster a more inclusive and respectful society for all individuals.
