Attorney General Pam Bondi took swift action on Friday, firing Department of Justice paralegal Elizabeth Baxter for making an obscene gesture towards a member of the National Guard in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.
Baxter, who worked in the department’s environmental division, arrived at the DOJ’s “4CON” building in the NoMa district on Aug. 18 and boasted to a security guard about flipping off the National Guard at the Metro Center Metro Stop, saying, “F–k the National Guard,” as reported by the New York Post.
Attorney General Bondi stated, “Today, I took action to terminate a DOJ employee for inappropriate conduct towards National Guard service members in DC. This DOJ remains committed to defending President Trump’s agenda and fighting to make America safe again. If you oppose our mission and disrespect law enforcement — you will NO LONGER work at DOJ.”
Attorney General Pam Bondi fired another Department of Justice paralegal.
Security footage captured Baxter sticking up her middle finger at the National Guard and shouting, “F–k you!” She also reportedly demonstrated the gesture to a department security guard. On a separate occasion, Baxter reiterated her disdain for the National Guard, saying, “F–k off!”
Bondi’s termination letter to Baxter cited her removal from the position of Paralegal Specialist and from federal service effective immediately.
The Trump administration has recently increased federal law enforcement presence in D.C. to address crime, deploying hundreds of federal agents and National Guard troops in the city.

Elizabeth Baxter was terminated for flipping off a member of the National Guard in Washington, D.C., on her way to work.
Baxter’s firing follows another DOJ paralegal, Sean Charles Dunn, who was dismissed for throwing a sandwich at a Customs and Border Protection agent in D.C. Dunn faced misdemeanor charges in relation to the incident.
