Pink shocked by fan who threw mother’s ashes on stage

American singer Pink reacted with shock and confusion when a fan appeared to throw a family member’s ashes on stage during her concert in London, UK

Videos posted to social media show the singer bending over to observe something a fan threw on stage during her set at the British Summer Time concert series in Hyde Park over the weekend.

In the footage, Pink picks up a bag containing an unknown substance. A fan appears to be telling the singer that she is holding a bag of ashes belonging to the fan’s mother.

“Is this your mother?” says Pink incredulously.

“I don’t know how I feel about this,” she adds, before carefully putting the bag back down and continuing her song.

The awkward interaction is the latest in a string of strange and inappropriate concert behavior that has some fans crying over.

Earlier in June, police arrested a New Jersey man after he threw his phone at singer Bebe Rexha during her concert in New York.

Rexha ended up with a bruised eye and the man was charged with assault, aggravated harassment and other charges.

The man said he tried to hit Rexha with the phone because he thought “that would be funny”.

Also in June, Paramore singer Hayley Williams apologized for kicking two fans out of her concert after they appeared to aggressively push through the crowd.

Last week, a fan punched Harry Styles in the face with a bunch of flowers. The British singer – who was hit by water bottles, cones and even a shoe during previous concerts – was not injured by the flower projectile.

Some concertgoers use social media to remind their fellow fans of proper concert etiquette.

Throwing items on stage, screaming along with every song, and fighting your way to the front are some of the behaviors that fans call out.

After years of a global COVID-19 pandemic closing live music venues and a slew of other things, it seems a reminder is warranted.

Artists and concert veterans say fans should remember the basics of concerts, such as picking people up when they fall and not throwing things on stage, so they can focus on what really matters: enjoying the music.
