Hello, Welcome to Politics Insider. Let’s see what happened this week.

Jenni Byrne, campaign leader of the Conservative Party, says that she will not supervise the next election offer of the party.

Byrne told The podcast Outside a ballot paper She believes that Pierre Poilievre remains the best choice to lead the party to victory, but she wants to take a step back and concentrate on her own consultancy.

Stephanie Levitz reports that the interview, which was published today, is the first time that Byrne has spoken in detail about the campaign and failure of the party to win, although they have been on their way to the election call for months.

Even today, Prime Minister Mark Carney said that the decision of Israel to take over the city of Gaza is wrong and the humanitarian situation will not improve on the spot or will help the remaining hostages.

Carney made the comments after a non -related announcement in Trenton, Ont.

His reaction contributes to the international conviction of Israel’s announcement earlier on Friday that it will intensify its 22 -month war with Hamas by taking over Gaza City, the largest urban area in the territory.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that more military pressure is needed to achieve Israel’s goals to give back the hostages and destroy Hamas.

Carney said the move will not help to end the war.

The Lobster industry of Canada is good, but we cannot take the good times for granted.

As I found during the investigation of my book, The Lobster Trap, there is a Golden Rush mentality on the water in Canada and the US and the race to catch as many lobsters as possible, exerts pressure on shares in ways that have never been seen before. As a journalist who grew up in the Maritimes during the Great Lobster Boom in the nineties, I considered Lobster as something cheap and abundant – so abundant that they once turned it into a McDonald sandwich.
