Delaney Baie Pridham Leads Ottawa Rapid FC to Victory Over Vancouver Rise FC
Delaney Baie Pridham was the star of the show as she scored twice to help Ottawa Rapid FC secure a convincing 3-0 win over Vancouver Rise FC in the Northern Super League. The match, which took place at TD Place Stadium, saw Pridham shine with her clinical finishing and impressive attacking display.
The opening goal came in the 11th minute when Pridham deflected a cross from Melanie Forbes into the back of the net, giving Ottawa an early lead in front of the 2,143 fans in attendance. Pridham continued to impress and extended Ottawa’s lead in the 51st minute with another well-taken goal, her third of the season, making her the league’s top scorer.
Reflecting on her performance, Pridham praised her teammates for their contributions to her goals. “The first goal was a great cross by Mel (Forbes), we’ve been practising a lot of crossing and finishing in training. That shows how much it pays off,” Pridham said. “The second goal was an amazing ball from Min A (Lee), she spun it in the perfect way that I could hit it the first time.

Highlights of the Match
Substitute Julia Benati sealed the victory for Ottawa Rapid FC with a stunning goal in the 75th minute, after a give-and-go with Desiree Scott. Vancouver Rise FC, despite holding 54% of possession, struggled to break down Ottawa’s solid defense and were outshot 14-7, with Ottawa registering 7 shots on target compared to Vancouver’s 3.
Ottawa Rapid FC’s goalkeeper, Mollie Eriksson, put in a strong performance to secure her second clean sheet of the season. The win sees Ottawa maintain their perfect record at TD Place with two consecutive victories.
Looking ahead, Vancouver Rise FC will face Halifax Tides FC on Wednesday, while Ottawa Rapid FC will host Montreal Roses FC on May 25 in what promises to be another exciting fixture in the Northern Super League.
