In a campaign press release, Laken Riley’s mother and stepfather have officially endorsed Rep. Mike Collins, a House Republican who is running for U.S. Senate in Georgia. Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student, was tragically murdered last year by Jose Ibarra, a Venezuelan man who was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
“There is simply no one else in this race who deserves to be in the U.S. Senate more than Mike Collins. He is someone who says what he means, means what he says, and actually delivers results that matter,” Allyson Riley and John Phillips stated in the press release.

The Riley family expressed their gratitude towards Collins, Senator Katie Britt, and President Trump for their support in seeking justice for Laken. They highlighted “The Laken Riley Act” as the first legislation signed into law by President Trump in his second term earlier this year.

They criticized incumbent Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff for voting in favor of policies that they believe contributed to Laken’s tragic death. Their support for Collins stems from his commitment to prioritizing the safety of American citizens over open border policies.
In a post on X, Collins expressed his gratitude for the Riley family’s endorsement, emphasizing that Laken’s cause motivates his fight for the U.S. Senate.
