UN draft report’s framing of Israeli child victims of war raises eyebrows

The upcoming annual report on children in conflict zones by the United Nations has already sparked controversy even before its official release in June. The draft report obtained by Fox News Digital has raised concerns as it excludes several examples of Israeli victims of the ongoing war and accuses the Jewish state of various wrongdoings.

One of the major issues with the draft report is the inclusion of conflicting data, with instances of verified and unverified information mixed together without clear verification sources. This lack of transparency has led to doubts about the accuracy of the report’s findings.

Israeli U.N. Ambassador Danny Danon has expressed strong opposition to the report, stating that Israel will not cooperate with a document that contains baseless accusations against the country. The report accuses the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) of kidnapping a Palestinian girl without providing any details on the incident or the verification process.

Another alarming claim in the report is the accusation that IDF soldiers used 27 Palestinian children as human shields in the West Bank and Gaza. While these cases are said to be verified, there is no information on who confirmed them. The use of human shields is a tactic commonly associated with Hamas, not the IDF.

The report also accuses Israel of using schools and hospitals as military outposts, a tactic that Hamas has been known to employ. In contrast, there is no mention of Hamas and Palestinian armed groups looting aid trucks meant for Palestinians in need.

Furthermore, the draft report fails to acknowledge the deaths of two Israeli boys who were killed in captivity in Gaza or the 12 Druze children who were killed by Hezbollah rocket fire while playing soccer in northern Israel. This selective reporting has led to criticism from Israeli officials, who feel that the report disregards the harm done to Israeli children.

In conclusion, the draft report on children in conflict zones by the United Nations has raised significant concerns due to its lack of transparency, conflicting data, and selective reporting. Israeli officials have expressed their opposition to the report, highlighting the need for accurate and unbiased information in such sensitive matters.
