PWHL unveils jersey designs for upcoming 2nd season
The Professional Women’s Hockey League has officially unveiled the home and away uniform designs for its six teams, just in time for the start of its second season. The uniforms, created and supplied by Bauer, showcase each team’s unique identity with prominently displayed logos, complementary striping, and team colors.
Following the announcement of the team names and logos two months ago, fans and players have been eagerly awaiting the release of the official jerseys. Previously referred to by generic PWHL prefixes, such as PWHL Minnesota, the teams now have distinct identities represented by their logos and colors.
Amy Scheer, the PWHL senior vice president of business operations, expressed excitement for the new jerseys, stating, “Players and fans alike have been waiting for this moment and we couldn’t be happier with the six unique looks each team will don moving forward. These jerseys mark the latest evolution in our league’s history, and we can’t wait to see them showcased both on the ice and in the stands.”
The second season of the PWHL is set to kick off on November 30 and will run through May 3, with teams playing a 30-game schedule, an increase from last year’s 24 games. The league has released photos of players wearing their dark home and away white jerseys, giving fans a sneak peek at the new designs.
Each team’s home jersey reflects their individual branding, with the Boston Fleet sporting a deep green base with oceanic blue accents, the Minnesota Frost in dark purple with light purple details, and the Montreal Victoire in burgundy with navy blue patches. The New York Sirens feature navy, orange, and grey colors, the Ottawa Charge don red with yellow accents, and the Toronto Sceptres showcase rich blue with yellow details.
The jerseys incorporate team logos and motifs that represent the unique heritage and identity of each franchise. Fans can expect to see these new designs on the ice throughout the upcoming season, adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding women’s hockey.
In a recent interview, Amy Scheer expressed confidence in the league’s branding decisions, stating, “The next phase for us is waiting to see our fans bring these logos to life.” With the new jerseys unveiled and the season quickly approaching, the PWHL is gearing up for another successful year of women’s hockey.
