HALIFAX – Environment Canada has issued rain warnings for PEI, southern New Brunswick and northern Nova Scotia.
Monday night, between 50 and 70 millimeters of rain is expected in PEI and Cumberland County and along Nova Scotia’s Minas Shore.
The forecast is the same for much of southern New Brunswick, from Grand Manan to Moncton.
The warnings say heavy rains could cause flash flooding, poor visibility and puddles on roads.
Meanwhile, special weather reports remain in effect for central New Brunswick and the western half of mainland Nova Scotia, including the Halifax area.
In eastern New Brunswick, the provincial government has launched a disaster financial aid program to help those who suffered property damage after heavy rains that caused flooding on Thursday.
There was significant damage in the Edmundston area, where up to 70 millimeters of rain fell in less than an hour.
