Real estate moguls charged in decade-long sex trafficking scheme

New revelations have emerged in the case against the three brothers accused of orchestrating a decade-long sex trafficking scheme, further solidifying the prosecution’s case against them. Real estate moguls Tal Alexander and Oren Alexander, along with their brother Alon, are facing serious charges including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, inducement to travel for unlawful sexual activity, and multiple counts of sex trafficking involving force, fraud, or coercion.

According to a federal superseding indictment, new accusations from at least six additional victims, including a minor, have been brought against the brothers. Tal Alexander is facing additional sex trafficking and inducement charges, while Alon and Oren Alexander are facing an additional charge of aggravated sexual abuse.

The brothers have pleaded not guilty to all 10 charges against them, which carry severe penalties at the federal level. Kelly Hyman, a trial attorney and host of the true-crime podcast “Unresolved: The Diddy Cases,” emphasized the gravity of the charges, particularly in cases involving sex trafficking and aggravated sexual abuse.

Federal prosecutors allege that the brothers enticed numerous victims with promises of luxury travel and accommodations, using their status in the real estate industry to lure women into their scheme. The indictment details how the brothers organized elaborate vacations for their victims, only to assault them while traveling.

The victims were allegedly drugged and incapacitated before being sexually assaulted and raped, sometimes by multiple men within hours of meeting them. The brothers are accused of operating the scheme from both New York City and Miami, leveraging their homes and businesses in these locations for their criminal activities.

Following the assaults, the brothers reportedly offered the victims material items such as travel, concert tickets, and other luxury experiences as a means of manipulation. Prosecutors must demonstrate that force, fraud, or coercion were used to compel the victims to engage in sex acts, a requirement in federal sex trafficking cases.

Alon Alexander’s attorney, Howard Srebnick, highlighted his client’s willingness to undergo a polygraph test, which reportedly yielded results indicating no deception. Tal Alexander’s attorney, Deanna Paul, reiterated previous statements asserting that the superseding indictment does not change the defense’s position.

The brothers are currently being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center as they await trial. If convicted of the federal charges, they could face sentences ranging from 15 years to life in prison. The case continues to unfold as prosecutors work to build a strong case against the high-profile defendants.
