Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., speaks out after arrest of trans activist for violent death threats

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., made headlines recently after the arrest of Samuel Theodore Cain, a trans-identifying activist who goes by the name “Roxie Wolfe” online. Cain, 19, was taken into custody by the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) after allegedly making repeated death threats against Mace. This arrest marks the first known instance of a trans activist being arrested for threatening a sitting member of Congress.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Mace expressed relief at Cain’s arrest, stating, “I’ve waited for this for a long time. Trans activists have been threatening to kill me every day for over six months, ever since I started filing bills to protect women’s spaces.” Mace emphasized that her top priority has always been protecting her family, her staff, and herself from politically motivated violence.

Cain allegedly posted violent messages online threatening to kill Mace and her children, describing graphic ways he would harm her. These threats were shared with law enforcement and the public for months. Investigative journalist Andy Ngo reported that Cain had a history of making threats and expressing support for far-left causes.

In response to Cain’s arrest, Mace called out the silence from Democrats on the issue of political violence. She stated, “Trans activists fuel violence, and yet not one Democrat has spoken up to say it’s wrong.” Mace emphasized the need for more people to speak out against dangerous behavior and hold perpetrators accountable.

Mace also highlighted the importance of protecting women’s spaces and called for changes to Section 230, the law that shields tech platforms from liability. She emphasized the need for accountability on social media platforms, where many threats are made publicly.

Some critics accused Mace of “punching down” by calling attention to her would-be attacker, but she dismissed these claims, stating, “Only Democrats blame the victim. They don’t want to protect women.” Mace urged other lawmakers, especially women, to speak out on gender and safety issues, emphasizing the importance of taking violence against women seriously.

As Mace prepares a victim impact statement for Cain’s upcoming bond hearing, she remains committed to standing up for women’s safety and holding perpetrators accountable. She emphasized the need for courage and action in the face of threats and violence, stating, “If you care about women, prove it. Stand up and say, ‘No more!'”
