Report reveals Iran’s nuclear negotiating tactics and tricks amid US talks

As the United States engages in delicate negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran over its nuclear program, experts have issued a stark warning to the Trump administration to avoid falling into the same trap that former President Barack Obama did with the flawed nuclear deal of 2015.

In a recent report titled \”Iran’s Version of the ‘Art of the Deal,’\” experts from United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) outlined 10 tactics that Iran has historically used to manipulate nuclear negotiations and secure major concessions while retaining its capability to build an atomic bomb. These tactics include deception, using political divisions within Iran to extract concessions, dangling phantom investment deals, issuing exaggerated threats, and running down the clock with endless talks.

According to the UANI experts, these tactics are designed to maximize Iran’s gains while offering minimal concessions, ultimately allowing the regime to advance its nuclear program while appearing to engage in diplomatic negotiations.

The Trump administration recently completed a third round of indirect talks with Iran, with a new round potentially scheduled for May. Iran has also reached out to European allies ahead of the negotiations, seeking to play the EU against the U.S. in an effort to weaken the Western alliance.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, has long pursued a strategy of dividing the U.S. from its European allies to undermine American interests. The regime’s goal is to manipulate the nuclear talks to prevent ideal conditions for Israel or the U.S. to take military action against Tehran.

While President Trump has expressed a preference for a diplomatic solution to the Iran nuclear issue, he has also indicated a willingness to lead military action against the regime if necessary. The UANI experts argue that Iran’s tactics are aimed at masking the fact that the regime is offering nothing more than the concessions it made under the 2015 JCPOA.

In the coming months, the U.S. will need to navigate these complex negotiations with Iran while remaining vigilant against the regime’s manipulative tactics. By understanding and countering Iran’s deceptive bargaining strategies, the U.S. can work towards a more effective and lasting solution to the Iranian nuclear threat.
