Republicans launch ads attacking Ossoff as ‘MIA’ on Los Angeles riots

The recent rioting in Los Angeles has not only captured national headlines but has also made its way onto the campaign trail. Republican Rep. Buddy Carter of Georgia, who recently launched a Senate campaign for the 2026 race against Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff, released a new ad targeting the senator over the unrest in the city.
The ad, titled “Rule of law is on the line,” showcases the chaos in the streets of Los Angeles and questions whether the nation stands for anarchy or law and order. President Donald Trump’s decision to send in National Guard troops and mobilize Marines to quell the protests sparked by immigration raids has further intensified the situation.
Ossoff’s absence in addressing the unrest has become a focal point in Carter’s campaign. The ad accuses Ossoff of being missing in action and claims that he is in support of “they/them.” Ossoff’s office has clarified that the senator is currently on paternity leave after welcoming a baby daughter.
The attack on Ossoff extends beyond Carter’s campaign, as the America One PAC, aligned with GOP Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, has also launched an ad targeting the senator. The ad questions whose side Ossoff is on, criticizing his stance on border security and Medicaid for illegal aliens.
Cotton, a prominent figure in the Republican Senate leadership, is committed to strengthening the party’s majority in the Senate in the upcoming elections. The efforts to support Senate Republicans in holding and expanding their majority in 2026 are underway, with strategic plans in place.
The political landscape is heating up as the midterms draw closer, with both parties gearing up for a competitive race. The focus on key issues such as immigration, law and order, and healthcare will likely shape the narrative in the run-up to the elections.
As the campaigns intensify, the spotlight will remain on candidates like Carter and Ossoff, who are vying for crucial Senate seats. The battle for control of the Senate will be closely watched, as the outcome will have far-reaching implications for the future direction of the country.
