Residents restrained during New Year’s Day home invasion in Upper Tantallon

UPPER TANTALLON, N.S. — Mounties are searching for two intruders after a violent home invasion in Upper Tantallon late New Year’s Day.

The victims, a man and woman, told police two men entered their home on St. Margaret’s Bay Road at about 11:47 p.m. on Monday.

The pair were restrained, and the intruders made off with several items, including cash, before fleeing the home in a black 2022 Chevrolet Silverado.

The Silverado was found a short time later on Highway 103 near exit 2, before being seized by police.

Mounties patrolled the area but did not find the culprits.

The robbers were last seen wearing ski masks and dark-coloured hoodies, with one man being described as standing six-feet-three and the other five feet tall.

The investigation is ongoing.
