Resurfaced posts expose Dem House candidate’s ‘radical’ views on trans children

Democratic candidate Josh Weil, running for Congress in Florida’s 6th district, has come under fire for his support of gender transition treatment for children. In a resurfaced social media post, Weil defended the rights of trans youth to access necessary medical care, stating that banning such healthcare is a violation of human rights. He also voiced his support for Medicare for All to ensure all trans children have safe and free access to medical services.
Weil’s comments were in response to a tweet from the ACLU announcing that Arkansas had become the first state to ban health care for trans youth. In another post, Weil criticized a bill in Iowa that would require teachers to give parents notice before discussing preferred pronouns with their children, warning that the bill would harm trans and non-binary youth and result in the loss of teachers.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) spokesperson Maureen O’Toole criticized Weil, accusing him of promoting radical gender ideology that is unpopular with voters. O’Toole also claimed that even prominent Democrats like AOC and David Hogg are distancing themselves from Weil.
Weil, a public school teacher from Orlando, is running against Republican State Sen. Randy Fine to fill the seat left vacant by former Rep. Michael Waltz, who joined the Trump administration. The election is scheduled for April 1, with early voting already underway.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Weil campaign for comment but did not receive a response. The controversy surrounding Weil’s views on gender transition treatment for children has sparked debate and criticism from political opponents. The issue of trans rights and healthcare for trans youth continues to be a contentious and divisive topic in the political landscape.
