Saints’ Alvin Kamara throws atrocious first pitch at Cubs game, asks for do-over

New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara had a rough time on the baseball field when he threw out the first pitch before the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals game at Wrigley Field. Kamara, 29, who was wearing a Cubs’ jersey with his name and the No. 41, threw a wild pitch that barely made it 45 feet and veered outside the lefty batter’s box.

The Cubs’ mascot, Clark the Cub, had to make a nice backhand pick to catch Kamara’s errant throw. Dissatisfied with his pitch, Kamara requested a do-over and threw a second pitch, which was much better. Although still a bit wild, the second pitch made it all the way to Clark the Cub, who caught it, prompting Kamara to celebrate with a hug.

Despite his baseball mishap, Kamara is known for his success on the football field. In his eight-year career with the Saints, he has scored a total of 60 rushing touchdowns and 25 receiving touchdowns. Last season, Kamara rushed for 950 yards with six rushing touchdowns and caught 68 passes for 543 yards and two receiving touchdowns in 14 games.

With quarterback Derek Carr retiring earlier this offseason, Kamara will be relied upon heavily next season to carry the load for the Saints. The team is facing a quarterback competition as they head into training camp.

Overall, Kamara’s baseball blunder provided some entertainment for fans, but his true talent lies on the football field where he has made a significant impact for the New Orleans Saints. Fans can expect to see more impressive plays from Kamara as he continues to showcase his skills in the upcoming NFL season.
