Satellite images show aftermath of US strikes on Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility

The recent satellite images of Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility have revealed the devastating aftermath of a massive bomb strike carried out by the U.S. military as part of Operation Midnight Hammer. The surprise strike, which took place on Saturday, targeted Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities using B-2 stealth bombers.

During a briefing at the Pentagon, Joint Chiefs Chairman Air Force Gen. Dan Caine stated that all three sites suffered extensive damage and destruction. He mentioned that it would take some time to fully assess the extent of the damage caused to the facilities. The satellite images of Fordow, Iran’s underground nuclear enrichment site, clearly show the obliteration of several structures at the site.

Prior to the strike, satellite images captured trucks and vehicles at the Fordow site, which is located near the city of Qom, approximately 60 miles southwest of Tehran. Despite the attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that there had been no increase in off-site radiation levels.

Fox News Digital reached out to the IAEA for comment on whether nuclear material had been relocated from any of the targeted sites before the strike. IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi announced that an emergency meeting would be held on Monday in response to the strikes.

Operation Midnight Hammer, described by Caine as the largest B-2 operational strike in U.S. history, utilized advanced deception tactics and over 125 aircraft to ensure the mission’s success. The operation included seven B-2 stealth bombers, various fourth and fifth-generation fighters, air refueling tankers, a guided missile submarine, as well as intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance aircraft.

Approximately 75 precision-guided munitions were launched during the operation, including 14 30,000-pound GBU 57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators, marking the first operational use of this weapon. The successful execution of Operation Midnight Hammer highlights the U.S. military’s capability to carry out strategic strikes with precision and efficiency.

In conclusion, the recent events involving the U.S. military’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities have raised significant concerns and sparked discussions on the implications of such actions. The aftermath of the bomb strike on Fordow and other sites underscores the potential consequences of escalating tensions in the region.
