Second Florida woman arrested in connection with deadly shooting on Facebook live
Florida authorities have made another arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that was broadcast live on Facebook. Lakevia Pringle, 31, surrendered to Sanford police on Friday and is facing a charge of first-degree premeditated murder. She is accused of recording the Facebook livestream that showed the killing of 34-year-old Lauren Martin on November 5th.
Pringle’s girlfriend, Savon Tyler, 35, was arrested earlier in the week and charged with the same crime. The incident took place after an ongoing argument led Martin to drive to Tyler’s residence. Upon seeing Martin at her home, Tyler reportedly armed herself with a children’s miniature baseball bat and a 9mm handgun. A fight ensued in the street, resulting in Martin being shot.
During the Facebook livestream, Pringle can be heard encouraging Tyler to escalate the altercation, which ultimately led to Martin’s death. A warrant for Pringle’s arrest was issued after the Seminole County State Attorney’s office reviewed the video evidence. Despite multiple attempts to interview her, Pringle did not cooperate with law enforcement.
Martin’s family has set up a GoFundMe account to support her three children, who are now left without their mother. The family described the loss as tragic and mourned the impact it will have on the children’s lives. Both Pringle and Tyler are currently being held in the Seminole County Jail without bond.
The shocking incident underscores the dangers of social media and the potential consequences of using online platforms to escalate conflicts. The livestreamed violence serves as a stark reminder of the need for responsible behavior and the consequences of inciting violence online. It is a tragic reminder of the devastating impact that social media can have on real-life situations.
