Senate, FBI probe alleged Chinese plot to influence Biden’s election with fake IDs

The Senate Judiciary Committee is currently investigating allegations that the Chinese Communist Party manufactured fake driver’s licenses and shipped them to the U.S. in an attempt to influence the 2020 presidential election in favor of Joe Biden. This bombshell revelation came to light after FBI Director Kash Patel declassified a document at the request of Chairman Chuck Grassley.
The declassified document revealed that the Chinese government produced a large number of fraudulent U.S. driver’s licenses in late August 2020. These fake licenses were allegedly exported to the United States with the intention of allowing tens of thousands of Chinese sympathizers to cast fraudulent mail-in votes for Joe Biden. The document also stated that China had collected private U.S. user data from millions of TikTok accounts, including names, IDs, and addresses, to create these fake licenses.
However, the FBI had some questions about the document. They noted that it was unclear how China would obtain U.S. address data from TikTok, as address information was not a valid field for creating an account. The document was also recalled for a re-interview of the source just a day after then-FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that the FBI had not seen any coordinated voter fraud before the 2020 election.
Chairman Grassley is now demanding further information from the FBI to verify the allegations and to investigate why the document was recalled. He is calling for all records related to the follow-up interview and communications among agents and analysts to be turned over. Grassley also wants an explanation of why the FBI under Wray’s leadership required the original document to be destroyed.
This investigation comes on the heels of a separate incident in which U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly 20,000 fraudulent driver’s licenses at the International Mail Facility in Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The majority of these shipments were arriving from China and Hong Kong, raising questions about a potential connection to the document’s allegations.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is now seeking answers and transparency from the FBI regarding these alarming allegations. Grassley is determined to uncover the truth and ensure that any attempts to influence the U.S. election are fully investigated and exposed. The American people deserve to know the facts and have confidence in the integrity of their democracy.
