Serial killer fears remain after bones found near Taylor Swift’s beachside home

Human remains were discovered on Wednesday in the upscale beach neighborhood of Watch Hill in Rhode Island, raising concerns about a potential serial killer in New England. The remains, including a human leg bone, were found on a beach path off Everett Avenue, just a short distance from pop superstar Taylor Swift’s beachside mansion.
According to reports from WJAR, the remains were transferred to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation. While foul play is not suspected at this time, authorities are exploring all possibilities in the ongoing investigation.
The Westerly Police Department has chosen not to comment on the discovery, and the Rhode Island State Police have not responded to requests for comment. The affluent coastal neighborhood of Watch Hill is known for its luxurious properties and stunning ocean views, making the discovery of human remains even more unsettling for residents.
This recent finding marks the 13th body or set of remains that have been discovered in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts since the beginning of March. With five bodies found in each of Massachusetts and Connecticut, and now three in Rhode Island, online speculation about a potential serial killer in the region has been rampant.
Despite the rumors circulating online, a former FBI agent, Scott Duffey, told Fox News Digital that there is not enough evidence to support claims of a serial killer. Duffey emphasized the importance of law enforcement providing more information to the public to dispel these rumors.
While one man, Donald Coffel, was arrested in connection with the murder of one victim, Suzanne Wormser of Groton, Connecticut, authorities have not confirmed any links between the other victims. Wormser was Coffel’s roommate and was found dismembered and placed in a suitcase in March following an argument over crack cocaine.
Tragically, Coffel passed away in custody at the Corrigan Correctional Center, reportedly due to complications from cancer. His death has added another layer of complexity to the investigation, leaving many unanswered questions about the series of gruesome discoveries in the region.
As the investigation continues, residents of New England remain on edge, hoping for answers and justice for the victims. The community is banding together to support law enforcement efforts and to bring closure to the families affected by these tragic events.
