Six hurt, including two with life-threatening injuries, in Pictou County crash
Six people were taken to hospital, including two with life-threatening injuries, after a car crashed in Union Centre, Pictou County late Thursday night.
Four of the occupants were believed to have been thrown from the vehicle.
The crash was reported at 11:47 p.m. on Gairloch Road between K. Ross Road and Oliver Road. RCMP spokesman Cpl. Chris Marshall said a small car left the road and struck a tree.
Marshall said there were four females and two males in the car. Two of the occupants were 17, but he didn’t have ages for all of the occupants.
The car was heavily damaged. One person was airlifted to hospital in Halifax, while three were taken to Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow and two were going to St, Martha’s Hospital in Antigonish.
The road was closed until 7:30 a.m. while a collision reconstructionist worked at the scene.
