Snowbirds pilot faces ‘sexual misconduct’ accusation: CAF
A member of the Canadian Army’s aerial acrobatics squad, the Snowbirds, has been placed under house arrest over allegations of “sexual misconduct,” the Canadian Forces announced Saturday.
Details of the allegation were not disclosed, but a statement from the air force commanders in Winnipeg and Moose Jaw, Sask., where the Snowbirds live, said the complainant is also a member of the military.
“The (Royal Canadian Air Force) takes all allegations of this nature seriously and is cooperating fully with the investigators,” the statement said. “The member with allegations has been transferred to non-operational duties at 15 Wing Moose Jaw.”
As a result, the Snowbirds, a high-profile aerobatic team that acts as an ambassador for the Canadian military, will fly as a team of eight aircraft β as opposed to the normal nine β βfor the foreseeable future,β the statement said. .
