Social media users blast ‘out of touch’ Schumer after appearance on ‘The View’

Republican lawmakers are up in arms over Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s recent comments on “The View,” where he appeared to criticize hardworking Americans who want to keep more of the money they earn. During the talk show appearance, Schumer took aim at individuals who desire more control over the businesses they have built with their own hands.

House Majority Whip Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn., slammed Schumer for being out of touch with the American people and for mocking taxpayers who simply want to keep the money they have earned. Emmer questioned Schumer’s understanding of the struggles faced by hardworking Americans who are trying to run their own businesses.

Schumer’s comments on “The View” sparked outrage among Republican lawmakers, with Rep. Pat Harrigon, R-N.C., expressing disbelief at Schumer’s remarks and Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., calling him out for being out of touch with everyday Americans. Rep. Kevin Hern, R-Okla., criticized Schumer for pushing a government-first agenda and Rep. Burgess Owens, R-Utah, slammed him for his lack of understanding of the American people.

In response to the backlash, Schumer defended his decision to vote for a GOP spending bill to fund the government, even if it meant breaking with members of his own party. He claimed to wake up at 3 a.m. worrying about the future of the country under what he described as oligarchs.

However, Republican lawmakers were quick to dismiss Schumer’s concerns, with Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, poking fun at Schumer for his fear of returning to government spending levels from a few years ago. Trump’s Rapid Response team also criticized Schumer for his stance on eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse from government.

Despite facing questions about whether he should step aside as Senate Minority Leader, Schumer defiantly responded with a resounding “No.” The Democratic leader’s comments on “The View” have sparked a heated debate over the role of government in the lives of hardworking Americans and the importance of allowing individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

Fox News Digital reached out to Schumer for comment, but has yet to receive a response. The controversy surrounding Schumer’s remarks highlights the deep divide between Republicans and Democrats on issues related to taxation, government regulation, and individual freedom.
