George Springer makes a triumphant return to the Toronto Blue Jays lineup.

After spending some time on the injured list, the veteran player has been activated and is ready to showcase his skills on the field once again.

Springer will be back in action against the Texas Rangers at Rogers Centre this afternoon.

The 35-year-old outfielder and designated hitter had been sidelined since July 28th after being hit by a pitch from Baltimore Orioles pitcher Kade Strowd.

During his rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Buffalo, Springer showed promising signs by hitting a home run and making an impact on the field.

In a corresponding move, outfielder Joey Loperfido has been sent down to the Minor Leagues to make room for Springer’s return.

Prior to his injury, Springer was having a standout season for the Blue Jays, hitting .291 with 18 home runs, 57 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases. He boasted an impressive .383 on-base percentage and a .506 slugging percentage.

On the other hand, Loperfido had been performing well for Toronto since his call-up from Buffalo, with a .358 batting average, three home runs, and 10 RBIs in 30 games. He also showcased a .409 on-base percentage and a .506 slugging percentage in major league competition this year.
