Bruce Springsteen Praises Jeremy Allen White’s Performance in Biopic
The iconic rock legend, Bruce Springsteen, has been singing Jeremy Allen White’s praises for his portrayal of The Boss in the upcoming biopic “Deliver Me from Nowhere.”
During a recent interview on SiriusXM’s E Street Radio, Springsteen admitted that it was initially strange to see an actor pretending to be him. However, he quickly warmed up to White’s interpretation, stating, “Jeremy is such a terrific actor that you just fall right into it. He’s got an interpretation of me that I think the fans will deeply recognize and he’s just done a great job.”
Springsteen also commended White’s singing voice and his ability to capture his distinct vocals, stating, “He sings well. He sings very well.”
The biopic is based on Warren Zanes’ book “Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska,” which chronicles Springsteen’s journey in creating his 1982 album, “Nebraska.”
Recorded on a cassette in his bedroom without the E Street Band, “Nebraska” marked a pivotal moment in Springsteen’s career, following the success of his album “The River.”
Directed by Scott Cooper, the film features a star-studded cast including Jeremy Strong, Odessa Young, David Krumholtz, Gaby Hoffman, Stephen Graham, and Paul Walter Hauser.
Springsteen expressed his excitement for the film’s casting, stating, “It’s a tremendous cast of people. They cast the film beautifully, so it’s very exciting.”
