Spryfield house fire closes Herring Cove Road

No injuries were reported after a house fire that closed Herring Cove Road for a time on Saturday evening.
A Halifax Fire spokesman said on Sunday morning that the house was fully involved when the first units arrived, and that some live power lines had come down as a result of the blaze.
A Nova Scotia Power crew responded and was able to shut off the live lines without disrupting much of the local electrical grid.
Six trucks and about 25 firefighters were on the scene, and they were able to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
