Stuart Skinner shuts out Las Vegas Golden Knights as Oilers push series to 3-1

Adam Henrique was the standout player in Monday night’s game as he scored two goals to lead the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-0 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. Stuart Skinner was solid in net, making 23 saves to help the Oilers take a commanding 3-1 lead in their second-round playoff series.

Evander Kane also had a goal and an assist for the Oilers, contributing to the team’s offensive success. Skinner, who replaced injured backup Calvin Pickard in Game 2, continued his strong play in goal and improved his post-season record to 1-3.

On the other side, Adin Hill made 29 saves for the Golden Knights but couldn’t stop the Oilers’ offensive onslaught. The loss puts the Golden Knights on the brink of elimination, with one more loss sending them home for the season.

The Oilers wasted no time getting on the board, with Henrique scoring just 1:27 into the game off a feed from Connor Brown. Henrique added his second goal of the night later in the first period, extending the Oilers’ lead to 2-0. A scrum ensued after Kane’s goal made it 3-0 in the second period, with the Oilers firmly in control of the game.

Despite a strong effort from the Golden Knights, they couldn’t solve Skinner and the Oilers’ defense, resulting in a shutout victory for Edmonton. With the win, the Oilers now have a chance to close out the series in Game 5 in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Overall, it was a dominant performance from the Oilers, who are looking to advance to the next round of the playoffs with a strong showing against the Golden Knights. The team will look to build on their success in Game 5 and continue their push towards a deep playoff run.
