Surprise eyewitness claims she saw Bryan Kohberger at Idaho murder scene

A surprising second eyewitness has come forward in the Idaho student murders case, potentially shifting the direction of Bryan Kohberger’s upcoming trial. The new witness claims to be the DoorDash driver who delivered food to victim Xana Kernodle just minutes before the brutal home invasion that claimed her life, as well as the lives of her boyfriend and two roommates.
This unexpected development emerged in a police bodycam video from a DUI stop in September 2024, which was later posted on the YouTube channel, Officer Axon. The woman, who remains unnamed in court documents, revealed that she saw Kohberger at the scene of the crime. While her credibility may be called into question due to a prior accusation of driving under the influence of drugs, her testimony could potentially play a crucial role in the trial.
Kernodle had received a delivery from DoorDash shortly before the attack occurred in the early hours of November 13, 2022. The surviving roommate, who encountered the masked assailant before he fled the scene, provided valuable information to the police during the investigation. The victims, including Kernodle, her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, and roommates Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves, all suffered fatal stab wounds from a large knife.
Prosecutors have alleged that a Ka-Bar sheath found under Mogen’s body contained Kohberger’s DNA, further connecting him to the crime. Additionally, police claim to have linked a suspect vehicle and Kohberger’s phone pings to the scene of the murders. Kohberger, a 30-year-old criminology Ph.D. student from Pennsylvania, was studying at Washington State University near the crime scene at the time of the killings.
At his arraignment in May 2023, Kohberger pleaded not guilty to four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary. If convicted, he could potentially face the death penalty. The emergence of this new eyewitness adds another layer of complexity to the case and may provide crucial insights into the events leading up to the tragic deaths of the four University of Idaho students. As the trial approaches, all eyes will be on the courtroom as the legal proceedings unfold.
