Tabin leads Victoire over Charge in sold-out game at Quebec City’s Videotron Centre
The Montreal Victoire emerged victorious in a thrilling matchup against the Ottawa Charge, with Kati Tabin playing a pivotal role in securing the win. Tabin notched her first two points of the season, contributing a goal and an assist to lead her team to a 2-1 victory at the packed Videotron Centre.
Tabin’s goal, which came on a crucial power play in the third period, ultimately proved to be the game-winner. She also set up Catherine Dubois’ power-play marker in the second period to open the scoring for Montreal. The combination of Tabin’s offensive prowess and solid goaltending from Ann-Renee Desbiens, who made 27 saves, propelled the Victoire to their 23rd point of the season, putting them ahead of defending champions Minnesota.
On the other side, Shiann Darkangelo managed to find the back of the net for the Charge, scoring her fourth goal of the season. Despite a valiant effort from goaltender Emerance Maschmeyer, who made 33 saves, Ottawa fell short in their bid to topple Montreal.
The game, which drew an impressive crowd of 18,259 fans, was part of the PWHL’s Takeover Tour, featuring neutral site games as the league explores the possibility of expanding by adding two new teams next season.
