Blue Jays have a big 1st inning in 10-4 victory over twins, Scherzer wins the 3rd consecutive start

The Toronto Blue Jays dominated the Minnesota Twins in a 10-4 victory on Monday evening, with Max Scherzer leading the charge with a strong pitching performance. Scherzer threw six innings, allowing four runs and four hits, including two home runs. Despite the homers, Scherzer managed to secure his third consecutive win.

Alejandro Kirk and Andrés Giménez also made significant contributions to the Blue Jays’ win, both hitting home runs during the game. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added a two-run single to help solidify the Blue Jays’ lead. The team’s offense was firing on all cylinders, as they secured their 30th win in 39 home games.

On the other side, Matt Wallner of the Minnesota Twins managed to hit two home runs off Scherzer, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win for his team. Twins starter Joe Ryan struggled in the first inning, giving up four runs and four hits. Despite a shaky start, Ryan settled in and managed to pitch five innings before being replaced.

Giménez’s 422-foot home run in the second inning further extended the Blue Jays’ lead, showcasing the team’s offensive prowess. Guerrero Jr. made a return to the lineup after dealing with a hamstring injury, starting as the designated hitter for the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays’ strong offensive showing, coupled with Scherzer’s solid pitching performance, led to a convincing win over the Twins. The team’s record improves to 57-3 when scoring five or more runs in a game.

Looking ahead, the Blue Jays are set to face off against the Twins again, with Chris Bassitt scheduled to start for Toronto and Bailey Ober taking the mound for Minnesota. Fans can expect another exciting matchup between these two teams as they battle for supremacy on the field.
