Taylor Swift fans warned of fake Vancouver ticket scams

Metro Vancouver Transit Operator Ramps Up Services for Taylor Swift Concerts at BC Place

As Taylor Swift prepares to take the stage for her three-night run at BC Place, Metro Vancouver’s transit operator is gearing up to handle the influx of fans and the soaring costs of parking and ride-hailing services.

Parking fees near the stadium have skyrocketed to over $150 on each concert night, while the price of a short Uber ride to BC Place has quadrupled. To accommodate the expected 160,000 Swifties attending the sold-out shows, TransLink will be expanding and extending bus, SkyTrain, and SeaBus services on concert nights.

SkyTrain frequency will be increased, with the last trains departing Waterfront Station at 1:15 a.m. for the Canada Line and 1:16 a.m. for the Expo Line. Additionally, a special West Coast Express service will run on Saturday, departing from Mission, B.C. at 4 p.m. and returning from Vancouver at midnight.

The SeaBus will operate every 10 minutes from 3 p.m. until the last sailing at 1:22 a.m. from Waterfront on all three nights. Extra buses will also be deployed as needed, with shuttle buses outside BC Place after the concerts to transport customers to Waterfront Station.

TransLink spokesperson Tina Lovegreen emphasized the focus on maximizing frequency and capacity to ensure the safe and swift transportation of concert attendees. Friendship bracelets will be distributed to riders as a token of appreciation for their cooperation.

With parking fees and ride-hailing costs reaching exorbitant levels, many fans are expected to rely on public transit for their commute to the stadium. The Better Business Bureau in B.C. has issued warnings about potential scams related to ticket purchases, urging fans to exercise caution and purchase tickets from trusted vendors.
