Teen killed in two-car collision in New Ross overnight Saturday

A head on-crash in New Ross overnight Saturday killed a 17-year-old from Chester Grant. 

RCMP say the youth was the only passenger in a Honda Civic that collided with a Toyota Corolla at about 1:15 a.m. The gender of the deceased was not released. The driver, of the Civic, a 20-year-old man from New Ross, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. 

The four occupants of the Corolla, including the 26-year-old male driver and three passengers, two women aged 28 and 25, and a 28-year-old man, suffered injuries and were transported to hospital by ambulance. 

Lunenburg District RCMP, fire and EHS personnel responded to the scene.

A collision reconstructionist was brought in and Highway 12 was closed for several hours.
