The 2024 Grammys will be held in LA on February 4
LOS ANGELES –
The Grammy Awards return to Los Angeles on the first Sunday in February.
The Recording Academy announced several key dates ahead of its 66th annual show celebrating the best in music. CBS will broadcast the main ceremony starting at 8 p.m. Eastern on February 4 from Crypto.com Arena, and it will be streamed live on Paramount+.
The ceremony will include some new changes.
Earlier this month, the Recording Academy announced that three new categories will be added to the 2024 Grammys: Best Pop Dance Recording, Best African Music Performance and Best Alternative Jazz Album.
They also shared some new voting rules, including new protocols related to AI technology. “A work that does not contain human authorship is not eligible in any category,” the requirements read in part, specifying that while songs utilizing AI technology are eligible for inclusion, “the human authorship component of the submitted work makes sense must be.”
In addition, a music creator must now do at least 20 percent of the work to win a nomination for the album of the year category. That’s a reversal of the 2021 rule change that allowed anyone who worked on the album to receive a nomination.
The number of nominees in the “Big Four” categories – Best New Artists and Album, Song and Record of the Year – has been reduced from 10 to 8 nominees.
The nominations will be announced on November 10.
