The county is offering a $150,000 reward in the Cape Breton murder trial

The county is offering up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the murder of Cape Breton resident Debbie Ann Hutchinson.

The announcement comes days after Cape Breton Regional Police said they are now treating Hutchinson’s disappearance six years ago as homicide. Police had previously investigated her disappearance as a missing person case.

“Ms Hutchinson, then aged 59, was last seen on video surveillance making a purchase at a drive-thru in the Sydney area on April 15, 2017,” the county said in a statement on Friday. press release.

The following day, Hutchinson’s car was found burned in a wooded part of Sydney’s Cossitt Heights Drive area.

Police have asked the public for information that could help determine what happened before Hutchinson’s disappearance or with her vehicle. They also released photos of four vehicles parked on Cossitt Heights Drive just before Hutchinson’s vehicle was burned in an attempt to identify the drivers.
