The Grand Slam of Curling Owners Announce Launch of Professional Curling League

The owners of the Grand Slam of Curling series have exciting news for fans of the sport – the introduction of a brand new professional curling league next season. The Curling Group has revealed that the league, known as the “Rock League,” is set to debut in April 2026, featuring six global franchise teams competing in a multi-format six-week season.

Teams will be structured by region, with two teams each representing Canada and Europe, and one team each from the Asia-Pacific region and the United States. While host cities have not been officially announced yet, the Curling Group is planning to hold events in Canada, the U.S., and Europe to bring the excitement of the league to fans worldwide.

Each team in the Rock League will consist of five male and five female players. The captains of these teams include some of the biggest names in curling, such as Canada’s own Rachel Homan and Brad Jacobs, Scotland’s Bruce Mouat, Switzerland’s Alina Paetz, American Korey Dropkin, and Japan’s Chinami Yoshida.

To ensure the success of the Rock League, curling legends John Morris and Jennifer Jones have been appointed as strategic advisers. Their expertise and experience will be invaluable in the creation and selection of teams, as well as in developing the formats for the league’s matches. Fans can expect more details to be revealed in the coming months as the league prepares for its highly anticipated debut.
