The Weeknd releases concert film to celebrate 25 songs surpassing 1 billion streams each
The Weeknd has achieved a monumental milestone on Spotify, with 25 tracks each surpassing a billion streams. To celebrate this achievement, Spotify has released a live concert film titled “Billions Club Live With the Weeknd.”
The concert took place in Santa Monica, Calif., in December, where The Weeknd performed some of his biggest hits, including “Can’t Feel My Face” and “Earned It.” He also treated fans to new music from his upcoming album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” including the track “Timeless.”
In a post on Instagram, Spotify first announced the impressive feat of 25 billion-streamed tracks by The Weeknd. The list includes popular songs like “Love Me Harder” featuring Ariana Grande and “Blinding Lights,” which remains Spotify’s most-streamed song.
Speaking of his upcoming album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” set for release on Jan. 24, The Weeknd recently held a livestreamed concert from São Paulo, where he was joined by collaborators Anitta and Playboi Carti. Following the album release, The Weeknd is scheduled to perform a one-night-only concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
Adding to the excitement, on May 16, The Weeknd’s thriller film “Hurry Up Tomorrow” will hit theaters, starring the artist himself, along with Barry Keoghan and Jenna Ortega. The movie will also feature new music from The Weeknd, according to Variety.
