Eagles’ Jalen Hurts ruled out with a concussion in first quarter vs Commanders

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was forced to exit Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders after suffering a concussion in the first quarter. The injury occurred when Hurts was tackled by Washington linebacker Frankie Luvu at the end of a 13-yard run, causing his head to hit the ground.
Hurts was evaluated on the sideline before being taken to the medical tent and then to the locker room, where he was officially ruled out with a concussion. In his absence, former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett, who was traded to the Eagles in March, took over and led the team to a four-yard touchdown pass to receiver A.J. Brown.
Prior to his injury, Hurts had only completed one pass for 11 yards and rushed for 41 yards. Despite his early exit, the Eagles managed to maintain a 21-14 lead over the Commanders going into the second half.
The Associated Press contributed to the report on Hurts’ injury. The Eagles will have to monitor Hurts’ status moving forward as he goes through the league’s concussion protocol. Stay tuned for updates on his condition and potential return to the field.
