Aaron Curtis Mickey, 45, has been charged with second-degree murder, robbery, and four firearm-related offenses, according to a news release issued on Tuesday evening.

MacDonald, known as Justin to his friends and family, was last seen in July, and the case was officially classified as a homicide in November. Mickey was apprehended near Sydney, N.S., and is currently being held at the Cape Breton Correctional Facility.

This latest development follows the arrest of Ryan Joseph Pike, who was charged with second-degree murder and robbery in connection with MacDonald’s disappearance. Mitchell George McPhee was also previously taken into custody and charged with manslaughter.

Details of the Disappearance

MacDonald was last seen on July 7 at the Irving gas station in North Sydney, N.S., as captured by the store’s security camera footage around 11 p.m. His vehicle was later discovered approximately 25 kilometers away in the Ormond Crescent area of Mira Road.

Despite efforts from MacDonald’s loved ones to uncover any leads regarding his whereabouts, his body has yet to be located. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist in the investigation.
