Federal workers will be required to report their accomplishments every week

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is once again reaching out to federal workers to provide updates on their accomplishments as President Donald Trump and Elon Musk continue their efforts to eliminate waste and inefficiency. This latest communication, titled “What did you do last week? Part II,” was sent out by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), deviating from the expected format that individual agencies would be the senders.

Unlike the previous email, this latest directive asks employees to outline five bullet points detailing their achievements each week, with submissions due by Monday at 11:59 p.m. EST. It also specifies that sensitive or classified information should not be included, and individuals working on such matters can simply respond with “All of my activities are sensitive.”

Elon Musk, the leader of the Department of Government Efficiency, clarified that this email is mandatory for all executive branch employees. Even those handling classified information must respond, reassuring that their work is sensitive. Musk emphasized the importance of this communication as a means to ensure accountability and productivity within the government.

President Trump has also voiced his support for this initiative, warning that those who fail to comply with the reporting requirements are at risk of losing their jobs. This push for transparency and accountability is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations and maximize efficiency in government agencies.

Overall, the goal of these weekly updates is to provide a clear picture of the work being done by federal employees and to identify areas where improvements can be made. By fostering a culture of accountability and productivity, the Department of Government Efficiency aims to drive positive change and ensure that taxpayer dollars are being used effectively.
