Thousands lose power in Halifax area after car crash
Thousands of residents in Halifax, Nova Scotia found themselves in the dark on Monday night after a car crash caused a widespread power outage. According to the Nova Scotia Power outage map, as of 10:31 p.m., a total of 12,105 customers were without electricity.
The outage spanned from Melville Cove near the Armdale roundabout to Purcells Cove, Cowie Hill, Spryfield, Ketch Harbour, and West Pennant. The incident occurred before 9:30 p.m., and emergency vehicles were spotted along the Old Sambro Road near Long Lake Provincial Park.
Nova Scotia Power indicated on their outage map that they anticipated power to be restored by 11:45 p.m. on Monday night. The map did not specify the exact location of the car crash that caused the outage.
