Bo Levi Mitchell and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats face a heavy challenge to resume their winning ways.
Hamilton (6-3) broke his six-game Win Streak last week with a 41-38 overtime loss for the BC Lions. The Ticats will visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders (7-1) on Saturday afternoon.
This competition is not only a struggle between division leaders, but the riders also come out for a day.
The Ticats hurt with safety Stavros Katsantonis (Kalf), cornerback Jamal Peters (Nek), returner Isaiah Wooden Sr. (shoulder) and fullback Ante Milanovic-Litre (Hamstring) between their hiking wounds.
Mitchell registered his CFL-HOOG Seventh 300-Yard match against BC and completed 23-of-33 passes for 305 yards and three TDs. Nathan Rourke from BC threw 408 Yards and two touchdowns in the competition.
When Woorden was injured, receiver Tim White stepped into the return game and was impressive, and collected 223 combined Yards (five catches for 84 yards, a run of two meters, four kick-off return for 89 yards, three punctures for 37 yards and a 11-yard missed field point).
But former Ticat Dewayne Hendrix recovered White’s Rommel to put an end to the opening of Hamilton Overtime possession, so that the road was cleared for Sean Whyte’s game-winning 19-Yard field goal.
Hamilton is 2-3 against the West Division this season, but a great 4-1 on the road.
Mitchell remains the CFL leader in passing yards (2,856) and touchdowns (21) with Hamilton who leads the competition in offensive points (28.8 per match) and offensive TDs (27). Saskatchewan resists a defense that is second in the least offensive points (21.8) and third in the least offensive touchdowns allowed (19).
Saskatchewan has won three upright and stands 4-0 against the Rivals East Division. The riders are 3-1 in the Mosaic Stadium. Starter Trevor Harris has completed 75.2 percent of his passes this season with 13 TDs and only four interceptions.
What is even more important, the riders are 6-1 with Harris in the middle.
The riders are second general in the net attack (398 yards per match) and third in Rushing (110.5). Veteran AJ Ouellette (564 Yards, 5.3 meters on average, three TDS) Anchores the basin attack of Saskatchewan.
The defense of Hamilton is in eighth place in attacking yards (376.7 per match) and hurrying per attempt (5.5) and seventh versus the run (102.8). However, the ticats have allowed a CFL-Lage eight TD passes.
