Top Ukraine official says security guarantee details could be hammered out within next week

Ukraine Prepares Draft of Security Guarantees to Deter Russia
A senior Kyiv official has revealed that the first draft of Ukraine’s security guarantees, aimed at deterring Russia from re-invading the country after a peace agreement is reached, could be ready as early as next week. Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergiy Kyslytsya shared that US and European leaders have been collaborating on the details of these security guarantees since a meeting with President Trump at the White House on Monday.
Kyslytsya emphasized the importance and complexity of the issue, stating, “If we speak about security guarantees, it’s such an important issue and so complex that we do really need at least one week to deliver, to prepare a solid draft over a package of security guarantees to Ukraine.” He added that the National Security Agency and chief of the military staff have been working diligently on drafting the agreement since Monday night.

“Ever since Monday night, the NSA and chief of military staff have been working very hard, practically every day, to draft that agreement. So ideally, we may have the first draft sometime early next week, and then we have to decide,” Kyslytsya explained.
