Toronto’s Pearson airport back to normal operations after plane crash

Toronto Pearson Airport Operations Return to Normal After Crash Landing
It has been roughly a week since the crash landing at Toronto’s Pearson airport that sent 21 people to the hospital and caused travel disruptions at Canada’s busiest airport. The good news is that operations are back to normal, with the runway where the Delta Air Lines crash occurred reopening.
A spokesperson for the airport mentioned that a final cleanup is underway at a second runway that was closed after the crash, but it is expected to reopen soon. As of 9 a.m., only one percent of departing flights and two percent of arriving flights have been cancelled by airlines, which falls within the normal range.
All 76 passengers and four crew members on board the plane survived the crash, despite the aircraft bursting into flames and flipping over on the tarmac. Fortunately, all those who were hospitalized have since been released.
Delta Air Lines has offered $30,000 US in compensation to passengers who were on the plane, stating that the money has “no strings attached.” However, at least two individuals have already filed lawsuits in relation to the incident.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is still investigating the crash to determine the cause and any contributing factors. In the meantime, passengers can rest assured that Pearson airport is operating smoothly once again.
