Water Replacement Work Causes Delays and Distractions in Caldale

Yorkshire Water has issued a warning to drivers in Caldale about the ongoing water replacement work at a large junction on the road. The project, which involves replacing 4,590 ft (1,400 m) of pipes at the Hipperholme Crossroads, is expected to cause delays and distractions for motorists traveling between Calderdale, Brighhouse, Bradford, and Leeds leading up to Christmas.

The spokesperson for Yorkshire Water stated that the works will also impact side roads around the intersection and a total of £572,000 has been invested in the project to enhance the resilience and reliability of the water network in the area.

Progress and Completion of the Project

Yorkshire Water has been in contact with local residents to keep them informed about the progress and planned work, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of December.

Details of the Work and Road Closures

Contractors working with the Caldale Council will commence the renewal of the Clean Water Network along Halifax Road and Leeds Road, starting at the intersection of Halifax Road (A58) and Tanhouse Hill. Additional work is planned for Barfield Road and Thompson Close, with a temporary road closure at the intersection for approximately two weeks.

Yorkshire Water has expressed gratitude to road users and residents for their patience during the work, assuring them that disruptions will be minimized as much as possible.

Importance of the Upgrade

Scott Gammon from Yorkshire Water emphasized the necessity of the upgrade, stating that it will result in a more robust and reliable clean water network, reducing leakage and the risk of future bursts, thus minimizing disruptions for customers.
