Transportation Sec. Sean Duffy says Pete Buttigieg ‘got nothing done’

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy recently claimed that the Department of Transportation has made more progress in the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term than President Joe Biden and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg did in four years. Duffy made this statement in response to a post by Buttigieg, who became Transportation Secretary shortly after Biden took office in 2021.
In the post shared by Buttigieg, he expressed concerns about the current state of the country, citing higher prices, financial instability, and broken promises. He urged Americans to speak up and demand better. However, Duffy criticized Buttigieg for failing to address transportation and infrastructure issues during his time in office. He accused Buttigieg of being ineffective and not delivering on his promises.
When retweeting Buttigieg’s post, Duffy emphasized that the current administration has achieved more in 100 days than Buttigieg and Biden did in four years. He highlighted the lack of focus on transportation and infrastructure in Buttigieg’s post and vowed to continue working on important issues like dismantling the Green New Deal and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion for the American people.
This is not the first time Buttigieg has faced criticism from political figures. Former President Trump previously called Buttigieg a “disaster,” citing his performance as mayor of South Bend, Indiana, as evidence of his incompetence. Despite these criticisms, Buttigieg has remained active in the political arena and recently announced that he will not be running for governor or U.S. Senate in Michigan in 2026.
In a post on X, Buttigieg acknowledged the importance of upcoming elections in Michigan but stated that he has decided against running for office in the state. He emphasized the need for the Democratic Party to connect with voters more effectively and avoid a “finger-wagging” approach to politics.
Overall, the debate between Duffy and Buttigieg highlights the ongoing challenges and priorities in the transportation sector. As the Biden administration continues to address infrastructure and transportation issues, it remains to be seen how these efforts will compare to the accomplishments of previous administrations.
