The Trump administration recently unveiled a social media thread on Sunday, showcasing the “worst criminals” apprehended by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) since President Donald Trump assumed office as the nation’s 47th president last week.
“Under President Trump’s leadership, ICE agents are working tirelessly to protect our communities. From illegal alien child rapists to gang members and individuals with suspected ties to ISIS, here are some of the worst criminals arrested,” the White House X thread declares.
The post features nine different illegal immigrants who have either been convicted of heinous crimes like child rape or have alleged connections to gangs, terrorist organizations, and other serious offenses. Each of the nine individuals highlighted in the thread is accompanied by their photos and short biographies detailing their crimes.
One post reads, “MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN: Edgar De La Cruz-Manzo, a convicted child rapist and Mexican national, was arrested by ICE Seattle on January 25, 2025.” Another post states, “MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN: A Mexican national wanted for murder with an active INTERPOL Red Notice was arrested by ICE Los Angeles on January 24, 2025.”
“MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN: A Jordanian national with suspected ties to ISIS was arrested by ICE Buffalo/Rouses Point on January 24, 2025,” another post highlights.
President Trump’s 2024 campaign prominently focused on the immigration crisis under the Biden administration, pledging to deport illegal immigrants, including those with extensive criminal records in other countries, cartel members, and individuals with alleged ties to terrorism.
Just days after returning to the Oval Office, Trump emphasized that he is fulfilling his campaign promises through a series of directives and policies aimed at securing the border. During a recent rally in Las Vegas, he reiterated his commitment to halting illegal entry, sending border trespassers back to their home countries, and designating cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
A senior GOP strategist noted that the Biden administration had the opportunity to address the issue but failed to act. “The most absurd part of all of this is that it’s clear the Biden administration knew EXACTLY where these pedophiles, murderers, and rapists were and did nothing about it,” the strategist remarked.
In addition to the arrests highlighted in the social media thread, ICE has detained several other illegal immigrants, including a convicted sex offender from Ethiopia in New Orleans, a Brazilian national convicted of vehicular manslaughter in Boston, and a Honduran national found with drugs and a gun in Seattle.
Law enforcement agencies, including ICE, the DEA, and U.S. Marshals, have been actively conducting arrests since Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20. Thousands of federal agents have been deputized to assist in apprehending illegal immigrants.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt reported that on a single day, law enforcement nationwide apprehended over 500 illegal immigrant criminals, including a suspected terrorist, members of the Tren de Aragua gang, and individuals convicted of sex crimes against minors. Hundreds of illegal immigrants have also been deported via military aircraft as part of the largest mass deportation operation in history.
